Featuring a cast of the West End’s finest and foremost performers, including Avenue Q’s Julie Atherton and Daniel Boys, star of BBC 2’s acclaimed Beautiful People, Samuel Barnett, Wicked’s Oliver Tompsett and Ashleigh Gray, West End star and Notes from New York co-founder Paul Spicer, Broadway and West End leading lady Hannah Waddingham, Olivier Award winning star of Hairspray Leanne Jones, and Rachael Wooding, who is currently playing the title role in the UK tour of Evita.

Maria Friedman returned to the West End to headline last year’s instalment of Christmas in New York, the annual celebration of classic carols and seasonal show-stoppers. She was joined by Avenue Q’s Julie Atherton, Wicked’s Oliver Tompsett and Ashleigh Gray, Spamalot’s Michael Xavier and a full supporting cast including Adrian Hansel, Zoe Rainey, Richard Reynard and Lorna Want.

Leading lady Anna-Jane Casey returned to the West End to headline Christmas in New York, the West End’s unique celebration of contemporary seasonal show tunes and festive favourites, alongside Notes from New York regulars Julie Atherton and Paul Spicer, Wicked’s Oliver Tompsett and Desperately Seeking Susan’s Emma Williams with West End favourites Melanie La Barrie, Matt Cross, Ashleigh Gray, Alex Jessop, Debbie Kurup, Steven Webb and Rachael Wooding.
Joined by an on stage choir of twenty four, this dynamic young cast raised the roof in seasonal celebration as songs by composers such as John Bucchino, Craig Carnelia, David Friedman, Andrew Lippa, Charles Miller, Grant Olding and Maury Yeston were intertwined with classic carols and an exciting new musical treatment of the popular poem ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas. Josie Walker returned to the West End in Christmas in New York alongside series regulars Julie Atherton and Paul Spicer, Cassidy Janson, James Gillan and Oliver Tompsett from the UK première of Wicked, Jon Robyns and Clare Foster from Avenue Q, Melanie La Barrie, Daniel Boys, Sophia Ragavelas and Emma Williams.
Featuring a selection of seasonal songs by Alan Menken, Andrew Lippa, Craig Carnelia, David Friedman, Frank Wildhorn and Jason Robert Brown, Christmas in New York included the world premičre of a song commissioned by British composer Grant Olding. Charles Miller's song Christmas in New York provided the title for the show and some familiar tunes were interspersed along the way. |
