Christmas in New York, the West End’s annual celebration of seasonal songs and classic carols, returned for it's fourth year on Sunday 6 December at the Prince of Wales Theatre. Bigger and better than before, cast includes Julie Atherton, Samuel Barnett, Daniel Boys, Ashleigh Gray, Jenna Lee James, Alex Jessop, Leanne Jones, Paul Spicer, Oliver Tompsett, Hannah Waddingham and Rachael Wooding.

Celebrating the fifth anniversary of the West End’s Notes from New York series, this much anticipated theatrical event brings the concept full circle to the work of one of the composers with whom it all began.

Notes from New York returned to its roots with a typically tantalising twist to present Notes in Heels, a show profiling the work of Georgia Stitt, Jenny Giering and Zina Goldrich, three flourishing female stalwarts of New York’s eternally ebullient musical theatre scene, starring Notes regulars Julie Atherton and Paul Spicer, with newcomers Selina Chilton, Stuart Matthew Price and Amy Pemberton.

Leading lady Anna-Jane Casey joined Notes from New York series regulars Julie Atherton and Paul Spicer in the first British edition of the series alongside Dougal Irvine, best known for his portrayal of Mark in the West End production of Jonathan Larson’s Rent. Not(es) from New York featured songs by the critically acclaimed composes Charles Miller and Grant Olding, who continue to enjoy success.

Notes from New York started life with a series of five shows focused on contemporary composers from across the pond, including Jason Robert Brown, Andrew Lippa, Jonathan Larson and William Finn. This initial group of shows culminated in a first anniversary gala starring Julie Atherton and Paul Spicer alongside Amy Nuttall, Jon Lee and an ensemble of past cast members.
